Foodess Headshots 21 200x300 About Jennifer

Hi, I’m Jenn – the writer, photographer and cook in the foodess kitchen.

I currently live in Vancouver with my hungry and charming fiance Adarsh, and our equally gourmand, floppy-eared Irish Setter (who more than makes up in cuteness what he lacks in brains).

I come from New Brunswick, on the exact opposite side of Canada. The storms there are fierce, the winters long, and the ocean icy, but the neighbours are friendly, the doors are unlocked, and the kitchen is the heart of every home.

By day, I am a food specialist for a flour & cereal company, a food industry nutrition consultant & dietitian, and a freelance recipe developer and writer (among other things). I also love to paint!

Things I am obsessed with right now include: creamy tomato soup, slow braised meats, anything with citrus, steaming hot chocolate, and crusty homemade bread.

My kitchen is the heart of my world. Food brings me so much joy that both my working life and my personal life revolve around it.

A very happy, well-fed life it is.

FOODESS IN THE PRESS

You may have seen me in FLARE magazine, Chatelaine magazine, Best Health magazine, in the Globe and Mail, and in Vancouver’s Georgia Straight and WestEnder newspapers.

Or you may have heard me on CKNW and Shore 104.3 radio stations in Vancouver.

I contribute regularly to Danone’s Stonyfield Organic Yogurt blog, and my recipes and photography are featured on rogersfoods.com, Gojee.com, mushrooms.ca, Tastespotting.com, Foodgawker.com, Bakers Journal Recipe Collection, and the Brandon Sun. Foodess competeted against USA and Australia in an international recipe competition.
