There's a place just down the street from me in Toronto, Ontario that makes wraps (butter chicken, lamb, etc.) with parathas. Total carb heaven. I thought they were deep-fried, which is why I never considered making them myself...but now that I have this recipe it looks like i'll be buying myself a cast-iron pan. You can also add chopped scallions or seasonings to the breads by sprinkling them onto the face of the rolled-out dough circles prior to the rolling and coiling step.

Wow! This is a favorite in my home country of Trinidad and Tobago. We call it paratha. There's a version that's kind of shredded called "bussupshut", meaning a tattered or torn shirt. I knew that it must have come from India because that's where some of our ancestors came from. But this is the first time I've come across the actual thing and it's a little exciting :)
