I've made this recipe before to make the 'proper' strawberry/chocolate scones and they turned out amazingly! So when today when I was asked to bake some scones for a little bake sale I immediately thought of yours. I used chocolate chips instead of full chunks and a small 3cm cookie cutter to make little circles -- they're still wonderfully fluffy and delicious and I just simply had to thank you for this brilliant snack recipe :)

You won't be disappointed :-) And it might even be worth turning on the oven while it's still crazy to do so...

Ooooh these look fabulous! I was on a total scone kick last winter and can't wait for the temperature to drop so I can start baking again. I'm absolutely going to have to make a batch with strawberries and chocolate chips... thanks for the inspiration!

These are in the oven right now and look so good - I went with 1/2 c fresh strawberries, and 1/2 cup frozen blueberries. The dough was way too wet to work with, so I ended up lightly working in nearly another cup of flour when working the dough. Maybe this is because of the fruit? Also, the recipe states to cut into rectangles, but the picture shows triangles -- how many scones did you end up with? I did two small circles and cut them into quarters. I can't wait to try one!
